Welcome to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) website for the Swamp Road Improvement Project in Bucks County.

PennDOT is presently in the preliminary engineering and environmental study phase of the project to reconstruct the five-mile stretch of Swamp Road from Route 413 in Newtown Township to Rushland Road in Wrightstown Township. This section of Swamp Road serves a mix of residential, institutional and industrial uses including homes, Bucks County Community College, Tyler State Park, Village of Rushland and two operating quarries.

PennDOT, in conjunction with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is committed to keeping the public informed about this improvement project and obtaining public input during all phases of the process.
